All women of the parish are invited to participate in Episcopal Church Women (ECW). By definition all church women are members. The group meets on the first Wednesday of the month, except for July and August. The meetings are held in the Dunham Room after the Wednesday noon Eucharist. The group is led by Dodo Rice. Pat Laubach is the treasurer, Mary Carnahan the secretary, and Susan Wilmott the head of the Tag Sales.
ECW supports local and global outreach missions as well as needs of the parish. Much of the money it raises for these missions comes from semiannual Tag Sales which involve participation of the entire parish. ECW supplies hospitality through receptions given after funerals as well as receptions on parish occasions. It helps to keep the parish connected with members who are housebound or in nursing homes by calling on them and bringing small gifts several times a year.
Historically there have been many women’s groups with various names over the years. Their mission has been similar - to find ways to raise money to care for the church and help meet its needs, to provide hospitality, to inform themselves of local needs and give financial help when possible. The current women’s group is named Episcopal Church Women.
