OPPORTUNITIES FOR PRAYER AND REFLECTION IN ADVENT: While Advent is meant to a time for quiet reflection and anticipation, we all know that it is often the busiest, most stressful time of the year. At St. Michael’s this year, we are offering three brief (30 minute) weekly opportunities to come together in prayer in the inviting warmth of the candlelit Chapel. These gatherings are not meant to be “one more thing to do” but a way to insert some prayerful spaciousness into the season.
Mondays, 5:30 pm, “Praying the Rosary” – This is an opportunity for us to learn the practice of praying the rosary together. We will learn the Anglican Rosary and will have extra rosaries available for those who do not have one of their own.
Tuesdays, 5:30 pm, Evening Prayer – This quiet spiritual practice can provide peace, calm, and perspective through the crazy pace and demands of our secular Christmas season. We will offer Evening Prayer from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. each Tuesday evening in the Chapel during the Season of Advent. If you would like to assist in leading Evening Prayer or reading one of the lessons, please contact Sarah Benton at swbentonvt@gmail.com or 802-579-2185.
Thursdays, 5:30pm, Contemplative Service – Chant, scripture and silent meditation incommunity.
